Our First Home Together

After our honeymoon, Adam and I drove from Atlanta to Tuscaloosa, spent 48 hours there, and then drove (with our sweet, sweet parents that helped us move) to Virginia. My daddy drove the U-Haul, Adam's dad drove his Jeep, Our moms drove my Highlander, and Adam and I drove my parents Tahoe with a trailer attached. We were quite the caravan.

This picture was taken the morning we left Tuscaloosa. Rammer says, "I'm ready guys! Load and lock!" -do you know the movie reference??

This is Adam and his parents (and mine too!) at The River Company steakhouse, known for their dry-aged steak. Yum!

Me and my momma and daddy! If we all look exhausted-- it's because we were! Adam and I could never say thank you enough to our parents for all of the help. We love y'all!

The whole lot of us out on the patio overlooking the river- hence the name The River Company

The following video is all of us in the car, eating my dad's favorite thing in the world: Dairy Queen chocolate dipped ice cream cone. I think he made believers out of all of us.

Now to show you our handy work. The pictures above were taken when we actually moved here. The following pictures were taken two nights ago. We have been settled for weeks now, I just haven't gotten around to taking pictures!
Let's start from the top (of the house) and work our way down, shall we?

Our bedroom-- King size bed, compliments of Jane and Steve. Thank you, because without this neither I nor Adam would get any sleep. Trust me. We tried to sleep on the queen size bed in the guest room until this one arrived, it was like sleeping on an air mattress without enough air. We kept rolling to the middle! And adam claims I can put out enough heat to heat the entire third floor. So thank you.

Hall bookshelf
Hall closet and mirror. (Yes Rachel H., that is the Daniel Moore picture you gave to Adam! I cannot tell you how many pictures we have from you that fill our house. Thank you so much!)

Adam in his office studying-- he's always studying. I'm so proud of him! He wouldn't brag on himself, but I will!! He is doing excellent in school. I never had any doubt! Keep up the good work honey!

When Adam asked if he could put his deer heads up I think he thought I would immediately shoot him down (ha! I made a funny!). But he was forgetting where I come from. It's not home without a deer head on the wall! Well, I reckon if ya' aint... Ah hmm hmm! What was I saying?

The futon is where the dogs sleep at night. This is THE ONLY piece of furniture in the entire house that they are allowed on! I even put up a fight about it, but it's worked out nicely. Hey, the dogs are happy!

The stairs leading down to the living room, dining area, and kitchen. This was the only wall we could find to hang my bridal portrait. I think it looks nice here :)

Fireplace. Check!

TV over the fireplace. Check!

More paintings from Rachel H., and the chandelier over our table.

The table where Adam eats the best food he's ever tasted*sarcasm*. This reminds me of a song, "Eating burnt suppers the whole first year, and asking for seconds to keep her from tearing up. Yeah man that's the good stuff." Well, I haven't burnt anything. Yet. But it's bound to happen. Sometime. Hopefully not tonight, though. We have company coming- Steve-O!

Den

Piano :) it has been too long since I lived in a house with a piano. I can actually play when I want now. The beautiful piano bench was hand sewn by Adam's grandmother-- or was it his mom. I forget. I'll ask them about that. Anyhow, it is gorgeous! And we are taking very good care of it Jane!

My domain.

Keurig Coffee, Krupps Kettle Corner! Say that five times fast!

The fridge

My life was completed when my daddy bought me my Kitchen Aid as a high school graduation present-- I mean when I met Adam.

Laundry closet and cook book shelf- Thanks momma!

Washer and dryer... I'm doing laundry now. oh. joy.

Our patio! My sweet babies were kind enough to pose for me. Rammer went for the strong, masculine pose. And Rosie went for the, "I'm just laying here, not doing much" pose. Very out of character for her.

This is the dog's little nook beside the couch.

A view from the couch looking into the kitchen

My "china cabinet!" It wasn't meant to hold china, but it does now! It was actually Adam's grandaddy's :)

The downstairs bathroom

The broom/vacuum/mop/pantry/Adam's protein closet.

Stairs leading to the garage (right door) and the front door (center)

We scored a two car garage! Woop woop!

It's always been a dream of mine to have a second refrigerator. And that husband of mine let me have one. I hit the jackpot with him.

There's lots of room for all our stuff!

Good-bye now! Come Again!
