The first week Adam and I were up here in Virginia, we promised ourselves we would unpack every box, hang every picture, and put away every knick-knack. I tell you what-- that was a full time job! We worked for an entire week straight, Saturday to Friday. I think what made it so hard and time-comsuming was that we were having to combine mine and Adam's college houses. We had two sets of everything, and deciding who's to get rid of and who's to keep wasn't always the easiest thing to do. Well, when the week was up and everything was in it's place we decided to venture out and see some sights.
The town we live in and the surrounding areas are affectionately called The New River Valley (NRV). This next tidbit of information I am about to share I am a little unsure of how they know or can prove this-- but the river that runs through the valley, the New River, is the second oldest river in the world. How do they know that? And if it's so old how come they call it NEW? It beats me.
Anyways, Adam and I (and the dogs!) wanted to get out of the house, and going to the river sounded like good ol' Alabama fun. So we loaded up the car, rolled the windows down, cranked up the country music and headed down to the river.
The river was beautiful. It was SO WIDE! I had never seen a river this wide before. And, you could walk all the way across it because it was so shallow. There were spots that I had to be on my tippy toes, but still. Pretty neat!
All four of us, Rammer with his life vest on (sad I don't have a picture!), hopped in the water and went walking up stream. When we had walked far enough, we sank down in the water and let the river float us back down to where we started.
When we finally made it back Rammer was very happy to be on dry land again.
Rosie would live in the water if we'd let her
Rosie has a bad habit of swimming up behind you and unintentionally scratching you with her paddling paws. Adam didn't know she was behind him and she got him good!I took action shots of Rosie jumping off a rock into the water. Here goes!
Good girl Rosie!!
Living on love and sunshine! (Haha! if only. but this girl's gotta eat!)
I hope you are having a great Friday! TGIF! Enjoy your weekend!
Love y'all!
It's so pretty!
